SHEEP SALES

We offer Icelandic Sheep and Mini Cheviots for sale on a limited bases.  We are in the Alabama Scrapie Program and all sheep sold off our farm will be ear tagged with Alabama USDA Ear Tags.  The Scrapie program is mandatory in Alabama now.  If the sheep are purchased out of state they will have their state Scrapie ear tag or we will put an Alabama ear tag in them.  I do have one ewe who lost her Mississippi ear tag and I re tagged her with an Alabama tag to meet the requirements with a note on her registration papers and in my records to the tag replacement.

Our herd Scrapie number is Alabama 331.  Our goal is to be Scrapie Free Certified, but it takes several years and a closed herd.  We are working toward our goal, but not there yet.

Icelandic white Ram lamb born April 2008.  He has an excellent, wide horn set and exceptional fleece.  Havvah (spotted moorit ewe, very milky) Ram lamb, triplet, white, carries spotted and solid color.  Sired by Jagar ram Tex (01H 146T).  He has grown out to a nice big, stocky, wide and long young ram.  He will make a fine herd sire.  He is easy to work with and is quiet and friendly.  Ultram is currently working as a clean up ram for our entire sheep herd.  He will be back up For Sale after January 2010.  $550.  ***This young ram has one of the best horn sets I have seen on an Icelandic.  The horns are at least 6 inches from his face on each side and would make a Big Horn Sheep Jealous.
